I turned off automatic updates yesterday. I don’t like technology telling me what to do. I like to tell it what to do!

When I go to settings / general/ software updates, there is a button labeled customize automatic updates at the bottom below the learn more and download & install buttons. Tapping this customize automatic updates gives you a screen where you can toggle download IOS updates on & off. Turning it off prevents automatic updates.
