If you go to Applevis.com on an iPhone (I sued Edge), I had to tap on the button near the top which says something like "Toggle Navigation and Search", once I double tapped on it the search field sdhowed up and it it very common on mobile sites to hide things like the search field in order to make the site less cluttered.
