Hi Shirley, Each iPod Shuffle model had a different kind of cable. If I'm thinking of the same squarish model you are, the cable has a frame and a piece sticking up that fits into the headphone jack. When you plug it in, it rests on the frame. You may want to find out the model number and search somewhere like eBay.
