First: try the up volume button on the side. If that doesn't work, there's a 
chance you could have accidentally turned the volume down in the rotor. Turn 
the rotor and flick up once each time you turn it. If that rotor volume is set 
to 0, you wont have speech unless you're using Alex for some reason. If the 
rotor volume is all the way down you'll eventually get speech when turning it 
and flicking up once for each time you turn it. A lot of people have done this 
before by mistake.
