Contact Apple if it bothers you. Every time there is an update things are changed or improved or even broken, but Apple is not the only company that changes things with their programs. There are bugs and changes in every piece of software. If it bothers you that much contact Apple and tell them about it. There are other things much more a problem than a different way to use an app that still works perfectly fine with only a difference in how you put in dates and times. Also, you can use Siri to do calendar entries.
