I don't have an Apple Watch yet, but I personally wouldn't get a case for it. I have classical watches that cost almost as much as an Apple Watch, and I don't buy cases for them.
Not sure about the Apple Watch, but a bumper is typically just a and that goes around the sides and edges of a device.
