Richard, I'm pretty sure you can get mini mouse now as well. -----Original Message----- From: viphone@googlegroups.com <viphone@googlegroups.com> On Behalf Of Richard Turner Sent: Sunday, 1 November 2020 9:33 am To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: RE: Differences between watch face, and home of the watch
There sure seems to be a lot of faces available for free on the watch. I'm leaning toward Mickey Mouse since I never had a Mickey Mouse watch growing up, grin. Besides, since you can have Mickey say the time, my 4 and 6 year old great, great, nephews will enjoy that. Frankly, I don't care what it looks like since I have no vision; I just want it to be functional. I am always looking for a better face but I never want to go buying new faces just to see if they are accessible or if they have the flexibility that I am looking for. Not all faces allow for customization or addition of extra complications. The one I am using now allowed me to match the color of the face to my sports watch band. And it allowed me to choose five complications plus date in addition to the time which is the main attraction as you pointed out. I added battery status, Dark sky Weather, Reminders, Workout, and Moving but I can change it any time I feel like it. I'm on the lookout for one that emphasizes health and fitness and plan on just keeping weather and battery plus maybe four health and fitness related widget type complications on the face. If I press the crown which is that big button on my watch I can bring up the home screen where all of my installed apps are ready and waiting. I can then just swipe left and right and scroll right through them and tap the one I want to activate. I have found the ECG and blood Oxygen apps to be very handy since getting my Series six as I am diabetic and I have a Seizure disorder. I'm hoping not to ever use the fall detection during a grand mal. The time is pretty obviously the main feature, but you can add items/complications, at various points around the watch face to have quick access to other information. If I am right, those are like the widgets on the iPhone. I won't have my watch yet for a couple of weeks, but that is my understanding and am happy to hear more and better explanations. But I am trying to comprehend some things. I am trying to get better at understanding my watch, and all the things I can do with it. Ok, so I know I have the watch face. And I understand that there are different watch faces I can have, with different complications on them. So here is where I am a bit confused. What is the difference between the watch face, and the home screen? Now I know when I go to the home screen that I can see all my Apps. Well several of them. And I can of course access them. So is the watch face there just so you can see different things? Such as the time, and your calendar, and so forth? How can having several complications set up, come in handy? I know this all might seem simple for most. And it is. I get the idea to a point. I guess just somehow I am a bit confused. So any help is much appreciated.
