If you use the app, you theoretically could have a conversation with someone who speaks another language and have the iPhone be your translator. It also says that if you have the phone landscaped, it will show each language on its own half of the screen. Plus, if you are trying to understand how words are written in that other language, it shows you the text and you can store phrases as favorites.

And as soon as you leave the homepage and that screen there’s nothing left to go back to to check. Or double check in this case.
