If you don't have enough iCloud space to have them uploaded to iCloud and synced over that way, you can try using Windows Explorer. Plug the phone in to the computer. Launch Windows Explorer and navigate to the Apple iPhone. There are several subfolders you have to open to get to the image/photo files. They in fact may be in several folders themselves. I find on iOS 14, which may be different than your old phone on 11 or 12, is the main folder is Apple iPhone, Select and hit enter on that, and I find Internal Storage, select and hit enter on that. Then there is a DCMI folder, do the same. Now, you should have a folder or folders of your photo files. Select all with Control A and then copy with control C. Go to your hard drive and put them somewhere you can find them and paste. On the new phone, reverse the process. Open those folders on the new phone with Windows Explorer, and once in the DCMI folder, you should be able to paste the ones from your computer.

Somehow it’s not registering how to do this effectively in my own mind. I have an old iPhone 6 that with a badly shattered screen that I no longer use. The best of my photos dating as far back as 2015 are on that phone. What would you say is the easiest way to transfer those photos to an iPhone 6s or to my newer SE 2020? I’m sure that phone has not been updated to a version of iOS that’s even 13. So it’s probably 12 point something or other. I hope that ladder fact doesn’t make it impossible for me to access those photos or rather transfer them to one of my other phones. Thanks for any solutions you can provide. I have a feeling this might be an easy one. Deirdre Sent from my iPhone -- The following information is important for all members of the V iPhone list.
