Thanks, Richard. Mine wasn't working that way, as I described in my first
email. After you're email, I uninstalled and reinstalled Weather Underground.
It's still not working for me as you describe.

>From the top left it works as you describe for the first few elements.

Then, it announces the temp, doesn't announce the Feels Like, Wind, Humidity.

It then announces Sat Sun Mon. it doesn't announce Hi / Lo temps for Sat Sun
Mon that are n the screen (again, as my sighted wife tells me), but then does
announce the next line of % precipitation risk for Sat Sun Mon.

Also, a three finger swipe left / right doesn't do anything.

The tabs along the bottom are as you describe.

Why is the behavior of this app for me so different from yours, especially
after an uninstall and reinstall?

I'm stumped. Any ideas appreciated.

Keith

Hi Keith and all,
When you open the Weather Underground app, touch in the upper left corner.
You should find a button that says UI toolbar home city".
Start flicking to the right with one finger.
You should hear your home city, then UI Toolbar Station, the next number you
hear is the current temp, then you will hear "feels like" and a number, then
you will hear "Wind and a number.
If you do a three finger swipe from right to left like you would do to go from
page to page of apps, you will find the next few days information in the same
three or four column table.
At the bottom of the screen, the second tab is for the hourly forecast.
Double tap on that.
Then, you will have each hour on a separate line down the screen, for example,
for today in Portland Oregon,
I hear "9 AM, 53, 8, 80 percent"
If you search around you can find the column headings for those numbers:

Hour, Conditions, Wind, Percip.

I hope that helps,
Richard

If you check the bottom

My Weather Underground speaks the temp, then announces the next 3 days (e.g.
Sat Sun Mon), then the risk of precipitation.

My sighted wife tells me that after the temp, Wind and Humidity are listed but
not spoken by VO, and that forecasted temps for Sat Sun Mon are listed before
the risk of precipitation.

In other words, at least on my app, Wind and Humidity information is not spoken
by VO, nor are the predicted Hi / Lo temps for the next 3 days.

I've checked in my app settings and can't find anything that sounds like
there's anything I can change in my settings.

Are you getting VO to announce the things I can't get mine to announce? If so,
do you have ideas what I may be able to do to fix this? I'm running app v 2.0.

I've been using MenuWeather to get the Wind, Humidity, and other info.

Thanks in advance.

keith

Does the Weather Underground app give you current conditions, usually updated
once an hour?

On the weather underground website, I put in my zip code, and when the page for
my town came up, I bookmarked it and put the bookmark on my home screen. Every
time I go in, there is a table with current conditions, including the wind
speed and direction.

Hope this helps!

Hello list,

So I'm in search of an accessible app that can measure wind speed. I live in
Southern California and it looks like we're about to get blasted with some
Santa Ana winds these next few days. I currently only have the native iPhone
app, another app that just measures humitidy and Weather Underground on my
phone. I use Weather Underground as my main weather app and all in all, I am
quite satisfied with it. The one thing it doesn't have however, or at least I
haven't come across it while poking around the app is any sort of wind speed
indicator or measurement tool.

Can anyone recommend a app that will in fact do this? I'd of course prefer a
free option, but I'd even pay one or two bucks for it if need be. I just don't
want to go paying for something to find out it pretty much sucks with Voiceover.

Thanks,
