Hi Holly, 

I have only attempted to view photos.  Double tapping did not work with
photos.  

A sound file or document may be different.

Hi, you probably tried this, but does double tapping work?  I got a media
file attachment the other day and I was able to get to the controls by
double tapping the screen.
