It is actually called Two Factor Authentication not authorization.
Two factor authentication is more secure, because when you try to log into a
new device or Apple service with a different device your Apple ID, you will
get an alert on your phone, or whatever your main device is asking if you want
to allow that log in.
You hit allow and you will get a 6 digit cone you have to enter to continue.
The can be a pain, but it certainly is more secure.

Hi all,

To start with, I do not know what 2-factor authorization really is.

But, I just upgraded my iPhone SE 2020 to the latest version of IOS. When I
restarted the phone, there was an email in my inbox from Apple letting me know
that I had just enabled 2-factor authorization.

I probably wasn’t paying as good of attention as I should have but I do not
remember authorizing any thing.

Anyway, is this a problem? I am assuming that the 2-factor authorization is
more secure. And, what can I now expect to be different when using my phone?

Thanks for anyand all information,

James B
