The Zoom IQ microphones are stereo and fairly small and work best on a phone without a case, or at least a case that leaves the charging port completely open since the post on the mic for the lightning plug is very short, even after removing the little plastic spacer they include. The Line 6 looks like an over the top system focused completely on music and more. Check their web site for a warning about the wireless system that needs a firmware update. I think the Shure Mv5 Digital condenser microphone is a unidirectional microphone that would be great for recording either spoken word or a person playing an instrument or singing. If we are talking just spoken word, the built in microphone or microphones, depending on the iPhone, do a fine job though an external mic does improve things.
