If she wants to learn all the Voice Control commands, that could work, but is a
lot.
I think a better solution is one I just learned about.
You can connect the Amazon Alexa app to your email and calendar and access your
email and calendar totally hands free.
I just tested it with my Microsoft email and calendar.
Here is the welcome letter after setting this up which gives you an idea of
what you can do.
Congratulations on linking your calendar and email account with Alexa. Here are
a few tips to get started.

Stay on top of your day
"Alexa, what's on my calendar?"
"Alexa, add a new event."
"Alexa, check my email."
"Alexa, cancel my appointment tomorrow."
Alexa can help with reviewing your upcoming calendar, and can also add, delete,
and move events to a new time. Check your emails, and reply, delete, or mark as
important, and get more done hands-free.

Never miss an important event
Get calendar notifications from Alexa by visiting Settings > Calendar & Email
in your Alexa app, and selecting the account you want to enable.

Add Calendar and Email to your Alexa Routine
Create an Alexa Routine, where a series of tasks are done with one command. For
example, say "Alexa, good morning" and hear your schedule for the day, the
weather, and your latest emails.
"Alexa, good morning."
"Alexa, start my day."
To enable custom Routines in minutes, follow the steps in your Alexa app under
Routines.

Alexa is always getting smarter and adding new productivity features. Visit the
Alexa Guide for the latest updates.
As a reminder, your calendar and email may be available to anyone using your
Alexa devices, and a copy of your linked calendar and email are stored in the
cloud.

Subject: reading e-mail on iphone while exercising

A trainee asked me about apps that would allow her to set her mail to reading
while she's on the bike or treadmill so she doesn't have to interact with the
phone much or at all, except possibly with her voice. She's a VoiceOver user.
Is there a way to do this.

Thought-provoking reading:
