Yes, you are right, Donna. I realized that I entered the wrong password, 
entered my Apple ID one, which is not in my Outlook accounts. So, of course, 
when they sent me the password confirmation, I could not get it. 

So, I am wondering if it would be a good idea to wait a week or so and try 
again. I know now, that in the process, it even wants my facial ID.

Sounds like you possibly may have  missed doing a step. After downloading 
Pandora you would have been asked to enter an email & choose a password. You 
would have been sent an email to confirm your email address that you would have 
had to click on a link to confirm email address. You would have had to login 
using the email & password that you chose during the sign up. All music service 
apps are going to require you to sign up in order to use their music service. 
Check your spam & trash folders for an email from Pandora. These were the steps 
that I had to take 3 weeks ago when I  signed up for the 3mos Free trial of 
Pandora. My other thought is that yesterday you accidently entered the wrong 
email or password.
