Hi. I have a pair of gaming headphones that I connect to my iPhone with a lightning adaptor. I lost that adaptor, and decided to order one that had a 3.5 mm jack on it, and a lightning jack to hook a cord so I could charge it and use the headphones at the same time. I connected the gaming headphones to the 3.5 mm jack to see how well it would work. I activated Siri on my phone, and spoke into my gaming mic. To my surprise, Siri came out of the speakers on my phone. I then tried to make a call on my iPhone, and instead of it coming through my headphones, it was routed to the ear speaker, which meant I couldn’t hear it. I can’t remember the brand of adaptor I got, but at least this one didn’t route phone audio through it, and the gaming mic didn’t work at all. I called up Apple and ordered that little lightning plug that I had, and all works as expected. I do have an adaptor with two female lightning plugs on it, so I can use my headphones and charge my phone at the same time.
