Hello Duane, If somebody discovers a bug then there is nothing wrong with posting it here. Whether you consider the bug to be reason not to update is your own business, but just because Davy chose to include "Do not update" in the subject line doesn't make it not a bug and ultimately it's the list owner's and moderator's decision whether a thread has to disappear or not. By replying and in turn causing others to reply to your message you are keeping the thread alive which essentially had all but disappeared already. In any case, Davy posted another message saying that a new update came out which fixed the issue and if a topic or thread is not of interest to you there is always the Delete key. The below is quoted from the footer of every message which is posted to this list and it definitely applies here and in any future situations where you feel a thread is not appropriate for the list:
