Neal, Thanks to another message I got it sorted out. It turns out that the orientation isn't detected when the Mini is in a flat position which it was when I was trying to do this. If I hold it upright or at a slight tilt, the orientation is detected right away. Thanks for checking this out and thanks to David as well who pointed out what I was doing wrong.
