Sounds like you might be experiencing spatial audio. When listening to a book, go into the control center, double tap on the volume slider and turn spatial audio off.

While I do enjoy an extra echo now and then, I would like to be able to read my books normally without the distracting cave man effect. Does anybody have any idea as to how I can take this obnoxious echo away when reading books from Bard? I have tried turning off spatial audio and it still makes no difference. It seems to only happen when I use my AirPod maxes and AirPod pros. Thank you all for any help you can provide!
