There was a time some years ago when I seriously thought about buying Seeing AI XT which I believe in Canadian currency was something like $300. Even before then I did subscribe to it for a year or so, but in my small town where I live I rarely need an app and then Apple Maps and Google Maps became better and better and combined with the GoodMaps Explore app I found were very adequate. Needless to say I am glad I didn't buy it since it is another example where a previously paid app now is free although I have also bought apps which I ended up using a ton before they became free for some reason and I don't regret the purchase because if I spend money on something which really helps me then to me that was money well spent even if at some point I could have gotten it for free. Sort of like buying your groceries and enjoying a good meal and then a few days later you go back and realize something you bought is now on sale… well, so what.
