Hi, I have been trying to find a good bird id app without much success until now.
I heard about the Merlin Bird Id app and have been trying it out, and so far I am quite pleased with it. They have packs that you can download of birds in different geographical areas. So far, I have just downloaded the one for my area to try it out. It actually has identified some birds which other apps were not able to id. They had recently added the ability to identify birds from you recording the bird call you are hearing. They also list the common birds in your area, and if you choose one, you can hear a recorded bird call that someone has contributed to the app. So far, I am impressed, especially compared to some of the other apps I have tried.
