I don't think that is a bug, more likely the way the phone interprets how you perform certain gestures.

For whatever reason the sound goes out and you hear nothing but the sounds when you are touching the screen. I have my phone set to turn voiceover on and off with a pushing the home button 3 times. Most of the times I have to do it several times until I hear it say voiceover on. I was hoping that this was corrected with the latest update but it wasn’t.
