Ok, thanks for this. Which brings up another question. Lets say you are
somewhere without your phone and there is WiFi available. Can you log in to
it from your watch then?

You do not have to enter the password for your WI-FI on the watch. It gets
this information from your phone.
If you flick up on the name of your WI-FI and choose more. On the next
page, just check to make sure that auto join is selected. If it is, then you
are good to go.
Mine just list the name of my WI-FI and how many bars is available. It
does not say connected or not. If auto join is on, then as long as your
WI-FI is available, then you are connected.
