I am sure you can set them up without giving permission to your contacts, but you'll limit what they can do.

I only raised my point because this is your phone, not your Amazon device. You can use your Amazon dvices without allowing them to have access to yhour contacts if you so desire. But you can't even install these buds if you don't allow access to your contacts for example. i get why they're doing it, I might be willing, but it's more invasive than other headphones, that's all. If you're already using your Amazon device to make phone calls for example, there'd be no difference and probably convenient to have the phone do it.
