If you were really concerned, why not at least allow the phone to be unlocked with Face Id, but set up your important apps to require you to enter your password? As for a thief holding the phone up to my face, first of all said thief has to get a hold of my phone which if it is a grab and run means he won't have time to unlock it by holding it up to my face. If you had Touch Id before, did you also not use it? After all, a thief could just force you to put your finger on the home button and for that matter, how much paid would you take before you give him your passcode? I think you either have it tipped back too far or you’re not putting it at the right distance from your face. If you have attention turned off it’s just a matter of putting it just about 10 inches from your face. I had a terrible time at the beginning. Sometimes I still have trouble, but it really does work. It’s just that you have to practice it. It’s just like those little blimps on the bottom and the top. It takes time to get used to doing it. It takes practice to do it properly.
