Yes, you could use your old charger, but your new phone would come with a different cable, a USB C to lightning one.
USB C connectors are smaller and are reversible it does not matter which way they’re inserted into a port. You would have to use your older cables, a USB A to lightning cable. The charge time would be quite long using a 5 Watt charger coupled with the higher battery capacity of the newer phone.
