As others have already pointed out, your problem may be that the VoiceOver volume is too low. Another thing that would explain your symptoms is if VoiceOver isn't running and you don't have the accessibility shortcut key set up to toggle VoiceOver. * How do you know voiceOver is running? * When you say you use the button on the right side of phone, are you pressing it three times quickly? * Did you configure the accessibility key to toggle VoiceOver? * Have you tried turning VoiceOver on with Siri?
