Launch the Photos app and at the top of the screen you should have a Select Button. Double tap this.
Now swipe through your photos and videos and double tap the ones you no longer want to keep. As you double tap then their status should be announced as selected. Once you have selected the items for deletion towards the bottom right you should find a Delete Button. Double tap this to delete the items you have selected.
