Here is what I did when testing my idea with a friend whom I have never corresponded with on Messenger. We are Facebook friends though. Go to the persons Facebook profile, tap on Send Message. The page will open, but voiceover will only speak "Loading." Use the rotor & turn to screen recognition & flick to turn it On. Touch the screen about a finger length from the bottom of the screen, swipe til you hear voiceover say "Smile A Button or Smile Button." Tap on this, If you are in the correct place the on-screen keyboard will pop up. I suggest keeping the message short by maybe just typing Hi, because the text field is not present. The dictation button is there, but I didn't test using dictation because I never use the feature. Turn the rotor once again to screen recognition & flick to turn it Off, then immediately flick again to turn it back on. Doing this is necessary to bring up the Send button. Swipe down to Send & tap to send the message. Turn the rotor to screen recognition & flick to turn it Off. Close Messenger from the app switcher & go open Messenger once again. Your message that you just sent should be on top, like any other time when you message someone, the active conversation moves to the top. I realize this sounds like a lot to do just to send one message, but there is no guarantee that Facebook will fix this bug in there next update. Fingers crossed that the bug is fixed soon. If not, at least you have the work around.
