Hello Marissa, I have read your post very carefully and, to date, have never heard of the issues you mentioned.
Therefore, I suggest that your problems are device specific and that you take your device into an Apple Store, if possible, for evaluation. If i exchange the device does anyone think that problems will be resolved or not? PS. i had issues with my first Iphone 4 which by the way is 2 years old.
