Just to clarify a little bit a route is a string of markers that help you navigate to a particular location. If you just have Tim Horton as a marker, you can leave the app off and whenever you need the help turn the app on and set the beacon which is the audio marker to Tim Horton and it will take you the rest of the way. A beacon is simply a marker that is in focus and has the sound. If you are not concerned as much about battery life, you can keep the app running but silence the audio marker until you get close.
