Voice over worked, though it was a bit glitchey at first, so I had to turn it on and off at least once. I was asked for my passcode, and and I was in. I did not see a place to tell the phone not to require a passcode, and I did not tell it to use a thumb print or facial recognition. Is not requiring a passcode an option any longer? I'm wondering if that is what has led to the problem I am now having. I turned my phone off in the middle of the night so that I would resist engaging with it during the night. This morning when I powered on, voice over would not turn on. It still will not turn on and I don't have a Siri noise either. The phone clicks and it will ring, but I no longer can activate anything knowingly. This is really a drag because it means I have to get downtown to a computer shop to ask them to figure it out. I hope I can turn the screen curtain off at least, or they can, cause I set the brightness to 0 rather than on auto which leaves it as 42 of it's own accord, even though there is not a soul around that needed to look at the screen and 42% seemed high. My guess is that the click sounds are digits I am tapping though there is no way to know what is on the screen right now, nor which of those clicks is a particular number. I thought updating would be a breeze but I've got at least one more hurdle to jump over. I can't even seem to turn the phone off and in I Tunes on the laptop, iphone doesn't show, just my music library. Some of my apps would no longer work without any explanation at all, so I figured it was time. My old 6S still works just fine so at least that is talking to me and letting me know what alerts are set on both phones.
