--- Begin Message ---I’m not worried about that at this juncture. I am pretty shook up. I'm good with this. ----- Original Message ----- From: deidreandlou...@gmail.com Date: Tuesday, September 20, 2022 07:05 AM To: Dulce Muccio Weisenborn <dulceandspa...@gmail.com> CC: Dulce Muccio Weisenborn <dulceandspa...@gmail.com> Subject: overwhelmed Dulce I agreed to start chemo next week. I'm tired this morning and haven't had breakfast yet, but it's on the counter behind me. am back to the "managing" phase of this disease. Lynn Mazur had some very interesting things to say to me last night, things that the oncologist did not speak of cause if you don't ask the right questions it might not come up. At some point, on a weekend, it might be a good time to talk to Lynn yourself - she is a fibt if knowledge. She is stressed to the hilt herself these days, so I need to be sensitive about when a good time to speak with her would be. She invites calls from me anytime, but she probably would want to not be in the middle of anything when and if she were to speak to you. I'll let you know. I have 3 virtual appointments on Thursday - one for a chemo teach, a second with MGH's Out Patient Social Worker and a 3rd with the Palliative Care Oncologist. That should be useful. Joyce will bring me in again next week on the 26th. I have to think about when a good time for Lloyd to visit might be. I know he is busy, so he might have to buck up and come later after I see how I tolerate the chemo, time it so I am past the most vulnerable phase of treatment, which would be the second week in, and also try to coordinate it with when Barbara is away, unless he agreed to be there when she is there, which I think he would enjoy, though he might prefer more privacy. I probably will not alert Beth to any upcoming visit with Lloyd, this year or next, because she is in truly bad shape, and I don't want to witness her own debilitating condition. I remain asymptomatic, so that is good, and that is the way the doctors want to keep it. The biggest risk on a number of function levels, meaning the biggest threat is the metastasis to the brain, and this is what they want to insure does not reach a point where the swelling of the current lesions causes serious and irreversable neurological issues. This is part of what I can summarize of yesterday's meeting and I'm alerting people locally to see what hands can come on board to help. I'm hoping I do indeed tolerate the chemo better than imagined, but I should be prepared all the same. I'll put out a note to the family in a day or tow, pretty much saying what I've said here, so unless someone calls you or you speak to Craig of Lloyd or any other family member, you can speak of it, but I'd say do not make any suggestion for any to plan to visit until things are sorted out. I'll do that with Lloyd myself. Let's hope for the best! BTW, I still have 2 appointments set up with my vet for that week. I don't know if Lou is at a stage whee I could rationalize putting her down. I am having a bit of trouble prioritizing what needs doing today, but getting to town to shop and pick up some medicatin waiting for me (it was ordered yesterday but I don't know what it is, probably Folate or maybe steroids) so onwards from here. I promise I will call soon. As soon as I get other things out of the way, maybe even today. Thanks for everything. I mean it. Deidre
