Maybe your microphone is dirty or defective, I have no issues with Siri understanding me, last night I wanted her to do a conversion and my wife was already sleeping and while I held the iPhone quite close to me I basically whispered it to Siri and my request was recognized just fine.

I did write up a list and send it on to Apple Assessibility and just got disconnected while waiting on hold to talk to them about what I will describe below. Siri is not responding to my normal tone of voice. I have to literally yell at the phone (and my echo device) to get her to acknowledge I have spoken. I know to wait to hear the bonk sound, for lack of a better term, and either way I wind up having to repeat my request twice, and you all know how much I like doing that! Is there some setting to mark the sensitivity of the recognition? I don't mean speech recognition, just regular dictated speech, once again most of the problems are when I try to use Siri from the home screen, and I am not within an app. I guess if this persists I will simply get trained to always do dictation within an edit field in a specific App. Another broken thing: If I say go to mail settings or settings for mail, I will never be taken to those specific settings. This was not the case with previous IOS versions. And, why is "mentions" in my roter? I did not put it there and see nothing about it in the roter settings. btw, what bugs did 16.2 fix?
