Holly, I just asked for a number not in my contacts and Siri spoke it correctly.
I checked under VoiceOver, Verbosity, and my numbers was set to words. Changing it there did not change anything. I know, those are VoiceOver settings and not Siri settings, but it doesn’t hurt to double check. I cannot find a setting anywhere that would account for this. What voice are you using and what is your default voice under VoiceOver, speech?
