I rarely use Siri to sent a text. I'm just talking about the dictation function on the keyboard in any text entry spot.

By this I mean not dictating a message when you are in the Messages app and you do a 2-finger double tap or tap the dictate button, but asking Siri "Message John Smith. In iOS 15 if I said "Message John Smith, Hi John, I am going to be a bit late for our meeting, but it shouldn't be more than 10 minutes" I could touch the screen near the top after Siri read back the message and I could then double tap once I found the message on the screen and I could review and if necessary correct any mistakes. I haven't done any updates since 16 because though there might have been some minor bug fixes with voice over and dictation, I do not want to be further disappointed. I often send messages on my back up old phone that has no phone service because I can still add to Siri dictated messages outside the message app and it will add to them without losing the first part of the already dictated message, which is what Siri now does. Losing those functions kind of defeat using Siri in such a context, that is, more spontaneously without having to go into the message app. Maybe it has to do with the function capacity of the SE 2nd generation phone.
