Sorry I do not know enough about the dozens of heating and cooling configurations to answer most of your question.
If your current heat and cooling are controled by the same thermostat, then you should be able to use Sensi. It shouldn't matter if your home is equipped with a C (common) wire or not. And, there are devices that can add the C wire in the rare case that Sensi doesn't work in your home. My installer installed the Sensi model st55 so that I can use Alexa, the I Phone App, or the tactile buttons on the thermostat. I am using a 2 year old heat pump in East Texas and every thing works like a dream. I almost always just ask Alexa to make changes but I sometimes use the buttons if I happen to be standing at the thermostat. I'm not sure as how it is possible for a blind person to do an install but most installers can install Sensi in about 15 minutes. Maybe you can phone your local installer and ask a few questions. I wish I knew more but there are too many different ages of systems and types of systems through out the U S. Wood burning, coal, fieul oil, electric, propane and natural gas, and several more. I'm glad people have options but it sure can get complicated. A phone call to a professional might help. I hope you come up with some thing that you are happy with. Hi all, especially Mark and James. So you guys both talked about the and sorry for the spelling. Sensy thermostat. My deal is this, we have both a propane heater and a swamp cooler. So they are separate. So would I be able to use this thermostat? If yes, you both said it was easy to change temperature, how?
