I'd give the camera app a try. Just bring up the camera app and make sure focus
is in the view finder. As you point the camera around you, you'll hear objects
described and text read to you. I haven't tried it in the wild, but I have
tried it around the house.

There's also the short description channel n the Microsoft Seeing AI app. This
is good when you know you're pointing at some text, like a label or a sign.

Subject: Reading text/signage in the environment.

Hi,

Don't know if GPT 4 is relevant here, if I remember aright, this became
possible a year or more ago, but I want to be able to scan my environment,
preferably, with video, but it could be still shots, not to identify objects,
rather, to read all text around me. This might be anything from street signs to
shop signs, to products on shelves or general info in buildings.

What app would i use to do this? Have people tried anything like this and
how well did it work?

Thanks, Sandy and Z (who is a little challenged when it comes to signage!)
