You can set a 3 or 10 second timer after which the picture is taken. To do so tap on "Camera Controls" which is next to the "Flash" setting at the top, there is also "Photographic Style" and on the very top right the toggle for Live Photo. In Camera options you have a few things you can set like aspect ratio, exposure, timer and filters. Timer will say "Off", if you double tap it once it goes to 3 seconds and if you double tap it again it goes to 10 seconds, double tapping it a third time puts it back to off.
Alternatively, if you have an Apple Watch you can remotely trigger the camera with the watch.
