Sieghard. I think 2 things are happening here. First, as others have pointed out, the excitement factor just isn't there as it once was. Second, not as many people seem to post on mailing lists as often. I seem to recall a similar sentiment about no one talking about the keynote last year either. Times change, a lot of this discussion can be found on social media.
