I have a Ring Pro at home and the Nest Video Doorbell at the backdoor of my retail business. Both have their good and bad points and I don't necessarily find it is easier to quickly answer the Nest Doorbell as it is to answwer the Ring. There is actually no lag, but I find as a blind iPhone user I can't answer it quite as quickly as my sighted wife can and if I tell my Alexa Show 5 which is sitting next to me in the office to answer it, I still have to activate the microphone button in order to speak to woever is there and to me that is actually a little stupid. Answering any video doorbell should be as easy as answering a phone call, e.g. when the notification pops up on the phone you tap it and it should connect with speaker and microphone active so you can start talking.

Big brother concerns aside, whenever our Ring gives up the ghost, we'll probably opt for the Nest Doorbell. Facial recognition, detect if it's an animal triggering the motion sensor or if a package was dropped off etc. I wouldn’t say that the ring is useless, but ... perhaps not as useful as one might think. If you're sighted, it's no big deal since you can just glance at the accompanying snapshot in the alert to see who it is. Be it for the motion sensor or doorbell, but that doesn't help us.
