Go to Settings > General > Keyboard Now swipe right until you get to the heading "All Keyboards" If you continue to swipe right you will find the following settings: Auto capitilization auto correction Check Spelling Enable Caps Lock Predictive Smart Punctuation Slide to Type Character Preview Period Shortcut You primarily would want to turn off auto correction, predictive and maybe check spelling and smart punctuation.

I really don’t get autoCorrect. In Notes on my 12 pro still running iOS16, sometimes I get a bubble, mostly I don’t. It doesn’t seem like AugoCorrect in Word, where its purpose is to correct whole words. I guess it uses the keyboard dictionary, which I believe to be uneditable. I make an intentional error and hear nothing. If I hear a bubble, and this can happen in the middle of a word, I’m not entirely sure what to do. I also gather it is good to turn Spoken Content on in General Accessibility settings, but this isn’t a VoiceOver setting, so I don’t understand the interplay of the settings. I received a document from Apple Disability Support which didn’t answer my questions.
