Hi Margaret,

I seem to recall folks posting after the release of iOS 17 that the double tap
time-out setting was changed to lower the speed needed to execute a double tap.
The effect of this would require you to double tap faster in order for it to
register.

Go to Settings, Accessibility, VoiceOver, and double tap time-out witch will be
near the bottom of the screen. Mine was currently set to .25 seconds and I
executed the increment button to make it .3 seconds which I like better since I
don't have to double tap quite as fast. Play around with that setting to see if
it helps you.

Good luck.
