I was thinking the same, however Sound Forge differs with both of us calling
128K "CD-audio" but anything higher is "transparent CD-audio".
I do agree with you, 128K sounds like the Martians have not only landed but
taken over some of my music. But for the iDevices the 128K setting should
work fine unless you are playing through a really good sound dock or some
big headphones.

*LOL* 128K is definitely not CD quality. the only thing that is CD quality
is actual cd audio that hasn't been compressed.
Then again, if you can't hear the difference, especially in the highs and
the punchiness of certain sounds like percussion, I guess it doesn't matter.
