Hi Larry, find my iPhone, for the 14 and up the phone does not have to be on to be located. You can open up the find my iPhone app, and any device you have or show up in the devices tab. If you have friends and family, that you are following, they have opted to share their location with you. You can see where they're at by selecting the people tab. Joseph Hudson
