If you exclusively use Apple devices, you can even use the Apple password manager / keychain for these authentications, then a simple arrow key will auto fill the value on Mac and the same features used to save your password will be used for the one time 6 digit code. I’ve only done this once, and it involved bringing up the password tab in Safari Preferences or the Passwords area of IOS settings.
