Playing while locked works just fine.

And, when you wake up the device, not necessarily unlocking it, the two finger
double tap stops it, which didn’t work early in this new app cycle.

Thanks Chris, that was a great explanation of the screens and very useful. Do
you know if they have enabled the ability to continue playing while the device
is locked?

Warmest regards,

Subject: Sirius XM iOS App

For those Sirius XM users, here are just some tips in using their iOS app.

1, there are 3 tabs at the bottom, but only 2 are important, the search tab and
the Library tab. The Library tab is where your favorites are located. 2, On a
lot of the main screens you will find a list of buttons at the top. Most of the
time they are labeled, but I have found a couple of times where they were not.
The buttons should be, in this order: All, Channels, Shows and Podcast, Artist
and Host, Sports, and Downloads. If I find one not labeled, I just use the 2
finger double tap and hold gesture to relabel it. 3, To add a channel to your
Library / Favorites. Go to the search tab, and do a search. In the search
results, double tap on the channel you want to add. On the channel screen, you
will find a Add to Library button. Double tap it to Add. At that time the
button will then change to Remove from Library. 4, Just like Apple Music,
Sirius XM now has a player screen that can be maximized and minimized. You can
only maximize it once you start playing the channel. The player screen is where
you will find all of the options and controls for that channel. To maximize the
player: After you start playing the channel, go back to the top of the screen.
If you do not hear, maximize player, then just swipe left until you do. Once
you hear maximize player, double tap it and the player screen will appear. Now
at the top will be a minimize player button. 5, On the player screen, the
controls you will fine will depend on the type of channel you are playing.
Music Channels. Most music channels have different DJs hosting their own show.
As you swipe across the player screen, it will list the current show and the
time frame of that show. After that you will find just a time listed. If it is
the current time, then you are listening live. But the time listed will be
within the time frame of the show. On the Player screen, you can rewind / fast
forward within the time frame of the show, and you can even restart the show.
For example, I started a music channel at 9 Am. The time frame of the show was
from 7 Am to 11 Am. The current time was listed because I was listening live. I
then hit the restart button, and it instantly started playing the show at the
beginning. I then checked the time on the player and it said, 7 AM. That is
because that show started at 7, and I just went back to the beginning. If you
go to the very bottom of the player screen you will find a view more menu
button. In here you can set a reminder for that show, turn a sleep timer on, or
send feedback. If you swipe left going back up the screen you will find: A go
live button. Remember I restarted the show, but if I hit the Go Live button, it
will instantly jump me back to what is currently playing live on that channel.
Restart button, this restarts the show. If it is a DJ / show that you like, but
came in on the middle of it, then you might want to restart it and listen to it
in its entirety. Rewind, play, fastward buttons, These are your common buttons.
When playing, the play button becomes a pause button. And you can use the 2
finger double tap to stop / restart playing a channel. Please note: If you
pause a channel, then restart it, then it will just continue playing where it
left off. in order to restart it where it is currently, then you will have to
choose the Go Live button.

Sports games and Talk Shows. With Sports Games and Talk Shows, the Playing
screen has an additional control that I really like. Just like in Podcast, for
Sports games and Talk Shows, it divides things up into chapters. So you can
jump around however you like, up to what is being playing live. The only
difference is that instead of chapters, they call them segments. For example,
in a baseball game, lets say that you were able to listen to the first 3
innings, but had to go do something, and when you were done, the game was in
the 6th or 7th inning. No problem. You can just go to this segment control, it
will list all of the innings of the game. You just go to the inning where you
left off and double tap. You will then be starting at that point. In all
sporting events, you can jump around as long as the event is on air. But you
are not able to play a sporting event after it is over.

Now for talk shows you can jump the same way, but in addition, they save at
least the last five shows, so you can listen to any of them on demand. You can
even download them if you want.

To access the Segment control. It is normally near the top of the player
screen, but just swipe until you hear, view segments. If you double tap that,
then a screen will pop up with all of the different segments that you can
choose to jump to. Again, this is a great feature.

Other than a couple of those buttons not be labeled sometimes, I find the rest
of the app totally accessible and easy to use.

I hope this has been helpful.

Chris
