To my understanding, you have to do it individually on each message. I am not aware of a general setting for all the chats. This doesn’t mean that there’s not one, I just have not seen it. Like I said, if you tap on the image or the persons name participating on the chat, You can get to the setting by swiping all the way down to the disappearing messages and then turn it off.
