This isn't available in my region yet, so I can't confirm, but there are some reviews that they require payment at some point and it is what they offer on their web site (I have just tried it there and was offered 10 minutes for free and then you need to pay - to read book sized content in a month you need to pay $100/month).
It could be though that they might run it few months for free to gain popularity - they have raised $80 millions recently. While this is a very expensive game to play they should be able to afford such promotion for a short period.
