Sieghard,

That is a good resource. For me, Jaws 2025 beta has the field labels backwards.

It says enter phone number where it should be the country code and enter
country code where it should be phone number.

Once I figured that out after being told our landline is wireless from El
Salvidor, it worked quite well and very fast.

OK, so you want to send him a texxt message not an email. If you use Outlook on
your PC, follow these steps:

1. Open Microsoft Outlook on your computer.

2. Click on “New Email” to create a new email message.

3. Type your message in the email body as you would for a regular email. It
must be less than 160 characters to be SMS.

4. Locate your recipient’s 10-digit phone number, determine their wireless
carrier, and input that information into the “To” section (see steps below for
details).

5. Optional: If you haven’t added your Sender number to Outlook, click on the
“From” field and select “Other Email Address.” In the “From” field, enter

your mobile phone number, and Outlook will prompt you to verify it. If you
don’t want to send from your phone number, Outlook will simply deliver the SMS

from your email address, which is why this step is optional.

6. Click “Send” to send the email, which will be converted into an SMS and
delivered to the recipient’s mobile phone.

7. The recipient will receive your message as a standard text message on their
phone.

In order to determine your contacts wireless carrier and the correct
email-to-SMS and email-to-MMS gateway addresses, use a website such as
FreeCarrierLookup.com, here is information from their website and belo wthat a
link to their website where you can enter your contacts phone number to get the
information you need:

FREE CARRIER LOOKUP SERVICE

Enter a phone number and we'll return the carrier name and whether the number
is wireless or landline. We have the latest data so our results are highly
up-to-date and accurate for most countries.

We also return the email-to-SMS and email-to-MMS gateway addresses for USA and
Canadian* phone numbers.

Welcome to FreeCarrierLookup.com
<https://freecarrierlookup.com/#google_vignette>

I just tried this with my phone number and here is what the result looks like:

Phone Number:

12508771611

Carrier: TELUS Mobility

Is Wireless: y

SMS Gateway Address: 2508771...@msg.telus.com <mailto:2508771...@msg.telus.com>

MMS Gateway Address: 2508771...@msg.telus.com <mailto:2508771...@msg.telus.com>

NOTE: This result is not number-portability aware. Due to regulations in
Canada, Data247 cannot provide local number portabiliy data for Canadian phone

numbers to customers unless they first get approval from the Canadian Local
Number Portability Consortium (CLNPC).

The above information, by the way, is correct, but of course I don’t know if it
is always correct espedcially in cases where somebody may have recently
switched carriers..
